It’s a Girl!

Gender reveal

Well, thank you for your patience as we told all of our friends and family the news of the gender reveal first! If you’ve read the title by now you’ve realized that it’s a GIRL! We would have been happy either way, but we are so thrilled to be having another girl, and a sister for Margot.

I’m also excited because I love pink, and it’s certainly going to be easy to match my daughters with all the pink around this house.

A few weeks ago I wrote about my favorite maternity store, PinkBlush (check out that blog post here). Recently I found this adorable pink long sleeve cold shoulder maternity top that had the cutest ruffle on it from them. It is so soft and comfortable to wear, as well as super cute. I definitely will be wearing this throughout my entire pregnancy, as well as postpartum. Check out more of their adorable maternity tops on their website.

The best part about PinkBlush is that they not only have women’s clothing they now offer so many adorable outfits for newborns and children. I cannot wait to continue matching with my daughters through PinkBlush!

Let’s hope that this next girl is as sweet, silly and sassy as her older sister!

Why Pink Blush Has Been My Go To Maternity Store for Two Years

Pregnancy Red Dress

When I learned I was pregnant back in 2016, I hit a point where I was in desperate need of maternity clothes. I had two weddings, three baby showers (one being my own), and just a general need for casual clothes as well as items I could wear to work. I found a few bland pieces at local stores that got me through a month or two. I told myself that I was just going to have to deal with not feeling comfortable or cute in any clothes while I was pregnant for the next few months.

That was before I heard of Pink Blush.

One day while browsing Pinterest I stumbled upon the website Pink Blush, and suddenly realized that I could wear some beautiful, trendy clothes as a pregnant woman, while still being comfortable. These clothes are what I continued to wear after pregnancy when I was still postpartum and not back to my normal weight. Some dresses I was even able to wear after I was back to my normal weight.

Fast forward to 2018 and I am pregnant again, wearing the same beautiful dresses from Pink Blush that I wore during my last pregnancy, as well as some new items that I couldn’t live without.

Red Floral Crochet Tassel Tie Maternity Shift Dress

This dress is one of the most comfortable summer dresses I have ever owned. The polyester material is so light to wear out and about on these warm summer days. It can easily be paired with heels to wear to a formal event, or worn with some sandals to run errands. Just when I thought I couldn’t love this dress more, I realized it has pockets. C’mon ladies, you know we all love a good pocket dress!

When it was shipped to me the tassels were tied together in a bow at the top, but personally, I like the untied look better with an open neckline. This dress is the perfect fit and is designed to be worn before, during and after pregnancy.

Peach Floral Striped Knot Tie Maternity Top

Floral Maternity Top

This floral and striped top is the perfect piece that can be casually worn around town or dressed up to wear to work. The front has a floral pattern with striped sleeves for a unique look, while the back is only stripes. It’s so easy to pair with a simple jean and bootie outfit, or could be dressed up with a black pencil skirt and heels.

It is 95% Rayon and 5% Spandex so it is very comfortable and has the perfect fit. I love the way it fits right around my bump with the knot tie detail on the left side hemline. The best part is I can wear this now at 20 weeks, but I can see that it will easily continue to fit my growing belly until I am full term.

2016 Pink Blush Favorites

Coral Maternity/Nursing Dress

Coral Pregnancy Dress

This simple, but beautiful dress has been one of my favorites for years. I wore it when I was pregnant with my daughter who is now almost two. I continued to wear it for months after she was born because it was so easy to breastfeed her in this dress. After I got back to my pre-baby weight I could still easily wear this dress, it just had a bit more flow to it.

I constantly wore this dress casually with a pair of flats or sandals and a jean jacket, or dressed it up with heels and wore it to a wedding. It is so versatile while also allowing you to feel so comfortable and cute wearing it.

Mint Floral Chiffon Maternity Dress

This mint floral dress is one of Pink Blush’s most popular items. This was the dress that caught my eye on Pinterest and helped me discover this beautiful range of dresses. I wore this to my baby shower with my first born. It fit so well and was so comfortable to wear. I loved that I could wear this dress with sleeves throughout the summer, and still didn’t get too warm because the sleeve material was so light and airy. It is also double lined to prevent sheerness. This dress continued to fit better and better the more the baby grew.

I have two other friends that bought this same exact dress because they too saw it on Pinterest and they love it just as much as I do. I have never received so many compliments on a dress as I do this one.

Delivery/Nursing Maternity Robe

maternity-robe.jpg

Pink Blush calls these Delivery/Nursing and Maternity Robe’s, but I call them “the comfiest thing I’ve ever put on my body and I wear it every day of my life” robe. When I say that I have worn this robe almost every single day since the birth of my daughter, I’m not lying to you. This is my go-to garment when I get out of the shower, and I wear it all morning long while I get ready until I get dressed in the morning.

I wore it when I was pregnant with my first daughter, and it fit perfectly over my growing belly. It was the comfiest piece of clothing to nurse my daughter in, and I’m so happy that I brought this robe to the hospital with me while I was there for a few days. It is still in beautiful condition and I’m so excited to wear it all the time throughout this second pregnancy as well.

The specific robe I purchased two years ago is not sold anymore, but I have linked two very similar options here and here.

My final thoughts…

Before you go, let me leave you with a few things:

  1. Pink Blush allows you to get 10% off your first order, so you can instantly get a discounted price.
  2. I am so excited that Pink Blush now has regular women’s clothing, so if you become as addicted as me, you can still buy their adorable items even when you’re not pregnant.
  3. Better yet, they have KIDS clothing that you can purchase for your baby or toddler, and you can guarantee you will be seeing more of that from me in the future.

Comment or message me if you have any questions about styling, sizing or fit on any of these cute items!

My Favorite Recent Target Purchases

Is there really anything better than a nice run to Target? If I was on my death bed and had one chance to see anywhere in the world, one last trip to Target would be at least top five places on my list. Maybe that sounds a bit morbid, but we are just getting off the Halloween train, so don’t judge me.

Last week I had a fabulous Target run and got all the things! Here are some of my favorite finds that I felt needed to be shared.

This chunky, comfy, cozy cardigan.

Apparently this cardigan has some great alliteration and can only be described with adjectives that start with the letter “C”. It is definitely chunky, comfy and cozy. In the last six days that I have owned this sweater I have worn it four of those days. The only reason I didn’t wear it one day was because I was Halloweening it as a unicorn (and we all know that unicorns definitely do NOT wear cardigans). The only reason I am not currently wearing it is because it is in my washing machine.

I will give you $100 if you can guess what I’ll be wearing tomorrow. You can then use $29.99 of that money to go buy yourself this cardigan.

Booties, booties, booties, booties rockin’ everywhere.

Talk about the cutest, comfiest booties on my feet. I have been dying to get a new pair of brown booties, but have not pulled the trigger because of how expensive so many pairs are. These were only $37.99! I thought I’d try them out to see if I liked them and then go back and order the black pair.

Well, I already purchased the black pair.

Doormat….(s)

Over the summer I purchased a doormat from Target that said “Welcome” with a pineapple on it. It was cute for summer, but didn’t seem to fit with this chilly, fall weather. I bought this colorful, leaf doormat (above) for only $10.99. Such a cute autumn touch for such a cheap price.

Then I thought to myself, “Hmmm. I really like this for fall, but I bet I’m going to want another one for winter”. We now have a doormat for every season thanks to Target.

Our summer doormat that was just replaced for fall.

Clothes for the baby.

I’ve always loved Target for myself, and now I get to love it for my daughter too. They always have the sweetest clothes at the best prices. I bought my daughter not only one, but two nice sweatshirts for only $7.00 each, and black leggings that were only $5.00.

Once again, Target for the win.

Earn Money Back With Ibotta

I am always skeptical when I hear the words “earn money back”. Okay, what am I going to have to sign up for? How much of this is believable?

With Ibotta, you really can get money back. Is it a lot? Nope, but for me it’s basically free money, and I use it every week that I go grocery shopping. No that we’ve added a third member to our family the grocery bill seems to be higher than ever, and this app has saved us money here and there after only using it one year. Let me tell you how it works.

Once you sign up for Ibotta you can browse tons of stores to see if you can find a rebate. It includes Uber, Amazon, Charlotte Russe, Target, Walmart, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Thrive Market, CVS Pharmacy, Wegmans, Rite Aid, Babies R Us, Home Depot, Walgreens, Tops, Sam’s Club. I’m tired of listing them, but there are more.

Once you find your store, choose it and see if there is anything on there that you’ve purchased. Click the Plus Sign to add it to your items list. A lot of times they have “Any Item” which gives you $0.25 back just for making any purchase and showing your receipt.

They typically have at least one or two generic items like “Any Milk”, “Any Tomatoes”, “Any Baby Wipes”, that you may use, but for the most part they are specific brands. The Ibotta brands are always easy to see because they are white and pink. Below you can see the milk is an Ibotta brand, and the baby wipes is the other. I’ve made the most money off of random generic items more than anything else.

After you’ve gone through all the categories and checked which items you’ve purchased you will be asked to take a picture of your receipt, so make sure you have not throw that away. Make sure to capture the entire receipt. It usually takes me two or three pictures since our list is long. Sometimes the receipt may not catch some of the items you’ve checked, so you may have to click “Add Rebates” incase your milk or bananas were left off. Once you’re done click the “Collect Purchases” button, and you’re done. It will then tell you how much money was added to your account.

I don’t even look at the Ibotta app until after I’ve purchased my groceries. I found that if I looked at what was on there before I shopped I was buying something we didn’t need just to get the money back, and in the end I was spending more money. Now I use it and typically get about $0.25-$0.50 back a week just for doing my normal grocery shopping. I know it doesn’t sound like a lot, but all together I’ve made about $60.00 in the last year, from just doing my normal grocery shopping routine. You can only withdraw funds when they reach a $20.00 minimum. It’s easy, and I’m making money, so why not?!
